The fairies didn't show up

We had another great weekend.

We had a sleepover at Nana and Popa's Friday night. Saturday morning we hung out at my parent's house where my guy went to the park, played with a giant Frisbee, caught a variety of caterpillars and picked up leaves. Saturday afternoon saw us attend a local fair with a jumpy castle, police and fire trucks, sno-cones and other activites.

Sunday was the day to catch up on all those things I didn't get done Saturday - tidying up, cleaning the bathroom and laundry.

Sadly, when I woke up this morning, the laundry fairies didn't fold the laundry or put it away. Maybe next week.

If You’re Happy and You Know Shout Hooray

I am also stamping my feet and clapping my hands that it is the weekend.

My son, for the first time, is also excited about Friday. I think it has been a long, short week for all of us.

We were off for more than a week for the Christmas holiday so it was hard getting back at it.

This weekend there will likely be some baking. My son requested to make both cupcakes and cookies and wants to use the new dinosaur sprinkles my aunt gave us.

I hope it also involves some backyard skating, some outside walking and some indoor playing.

Happy Weekend.

Weekends are fun

I love weekends.

This weekend we had a friend and her son over so my guy had someone to play with.

We also:

• Went apple picking. It's that time of year again. This year we are dehydrating them and I may try canning them, too.

• Dug up my neighbour's flowers and planted them in my garden.

• Went grape picking at the same neighbour's house. My guy liked using his shovel to bury the grapes in my garden.

• Played tennis, soccer with a hacky sack and went for a walk.

• Tried out our new slide courtesy of my brother.

• Made cookies for my brother-in-law's upcoming wedding (only 20 more to go).

• Made tomato sauce with tomatoes and basil from our garden.

• Napped, played, read and laughed.

Another great weekend.
