If You’re Happy and You Know Shout Hooray

I am also stamping my feet and clapping my hands that it is the weekend.

My son, for the first time, is also excited about Friday. I think it has been a long, short week for all of us.

We were off for more than a week for the Christmas holiday so it was hard getting back at it.

This weekend there will likely be some baking. My son requested to make both cupcakes and cookies and wants to use the new dinosaur sprinkles my aunt gave us.

I hope it also involves some backyard skating, some outside walking and some indoor playing.

Happy Weekend.

It’s Friday

It’s Friday.
Do the Happy Dance.
An Alberta Clipper is coming through Saturday, which means snow.

Do the Sad Dance. I was supposed to visit a childhood friend Saturday but if we are getting snow, they are getting a ton of it.
Maybe we can go Sunday instead.

Do the Happy Dance because it means my guy and I can hang out for a day without rushing around in the morning.
Happy Weekend, everyone.

It’s The Weekend – Yaaaaaaa!

On Friday mornings on the way to daycare, I tell my little guy 'It’s Friday.'

I then ask him: ‘Do you know what that means? It’s the weekend.’

And we both clap loudly and say ‘Yaaaaaa.’

Despite having a wonderful day off yesterday – the boy is now two – I am glad it’s Friday.

It means a visit with the family Saturday, likely some jumping in leaves, napping and playing.

It’s Friday everyone. Yaaaaaaaaaaa!

It’s Tuesday

How often are you excited about a Tuesday?

It’s not Wednesday, hump day, the mid-week point. It’s not Friday, the end of the long week. It’s Tuesday.

But it’s sunny outside. It’s warm. And the snow is melting.

Yah, Tuesday.

Friday Rambles

• It took me just more than two hours to get to work this morning. It wasn’t the snow that was falling that was the problem, rather the snow that was already on the ground making it impossible to see what side of the road you are on.
Someone needs to invent a heated middle line so you know you where you are.

• At about 7 a.m. this morning, someone from the City of Toronto came on the radio to tell us that in a few hours the snowploughs should be starting their routes. What! Shouldn’t they already be out? What are they waiting for?

• I followed an older man driving a newer model Mercedes Benz the other morning and his license plate was RICH IQ.
What does that mean? Is he suggesting because he is rich he has a higher IQ? Perhaps it isn’t right for me to be annoyed but arrogance is a trait that really annoys me.

• Friday is here. Happy weekend everyone.

Lost Day

The Daily Dribbles

It wasn’t until I got up this morning that I realized I had spent the day yesterday thinking it was Thursday.

I even participated in Kmama’s Thursday’s Thank You and was wondering why those who usually participate hadn’t yet done so.

Well now I know.

Today is Thursday, which means I have another whole day until Friday.

Sigh.

Almost Over

This has felt like an exceptionally long week. I woke up today thinking it was Friday.

Unfortunately, I was wrong and Thursday dragged by as much as the three days that preceded it. All day long I thought my work week was almost done and all day long I had to keep reminding myself that I do indeed have to get up tomorrow and face another day.

The lengthy week likely felt even longer because of yesterday’s three-hour morning commute. By the time Wednesday was done, I had spent more than four hours in the car.

Today’s weather, while much improved, caused a bit of stress because the radio announcers kept saying the roads were covered in black ice and snow squalls were likely.

I never hit either, thankfully, but people were like we were so while we were all safe, it was another long, stressful drive.

But if my week felt lengthy, I couldn’t imagine how it felt to be my friend CM, who had to return to work after being off for a year’s maternity leave.

It has been more than a month since my own return but I remember that week well.

Our long week is almost over. Thank goodness.
