She Was Right

My longtime friend, Mundanemomma, told me once my son started walking, he would be bruised and scratched for quite some time.

She was right.

My son was a late walker; only within the last few weeks would I say he is walking – and falling.

I picked him up from daycare last week with a giant bruise on his cheek. He had slipped on a toy and hit the toy box.

On Saturday, he bumped his head on the table and there is a small bruise there. On Sunday, the other side of his head was bruised and scratched, with a few scratches on his nose, when he fell and hit the pavement on the neighbour’s driveway.

This morning I noticed he has a bruise on his chin, a bug bite above the scratches on his forehead and other bite on his eye.

Poor guy.

Oh yeah--I remember very well (my son is now five and can still be clumbsy).

Now we wait for head injuries.
Falling down stairs.
Bruised knees.
My guy looks like he's been to war.
He has bruises on his face, scratches on his arms and always a bum or two on his head.
It's toddler time!

Poor guy. Don't worry, it will get better soon! Just don't plan any photo sessions for a bit yet! Glad to hear he finally got going, yay E!

He sounds like a MESS! In a good way.

That's funny. I was just looking at Matthew a few minutes ago and thinking how many cuts and scrapes and bug bites the poor child has. Good to know he's in good company!

Cheers :-)

Ohhh, poor little guy! I know what you mean, my little one is just starting to walk as well and has been sporting a few bruises and bumps, too.

Unfortunately there'll probably be lots more to come! Good thing they're tough.
