Before I can accept it’s fall and love the season for it’s beautiful colours, crisp days and woodsy smells, I have to mourn the loss of summer.
And this year I have been particularly sad to say goodbye to hot days, long periods of sunshine and a more relaxed pace of life.
But this weekend I have accepted summer is over and welcomed in fall.
It could be that this weekend was fantastic. The prediction of rain didn’t come true and instead it was blue skies and warmer temperatures.
Welcome fall.

Pretty! It's been a beautiful September here - just warm and gorgeous and it makes me wonder if I moved and didn't realize it. I'm really enjoying fall!
There is something beautiful and mystical about fall. Too bad it just leads us to winter :) (mourning summer a little bit, too)

I am not ready for Fall yet. And to top it off we had a horrible weekend. Oppressive humidity and overcast! WAH!!!

The colours and the afternoon light make up for any sadness I have about the end of summer. It's so pretty!
