How About That Super Bowl

I dislike football. It’s likely because I don’t get it.

I went to a Toronto Argonauts football game once with my husband who, as a youth, went to the games weekly with his season-pass holding dad.

Last night, my husband and I watched the Super Bowl half-time show, which was surprisingly short, and then started to watch the game.

It was like trying muddle through my Cantonese lessons – or math. I was completely confused.

I know the Canadian Football League (CFL) is differently than the NFL but wondered if it was so different my husband couldn’t follow what was going on.

J. explained the differences between the two leagues but I must confess that my eyes glazed over and I had no idea what he was talking about.

I must have sounded quite rude when I cut him off and said ‘So you can follow the game then?’

And for the record he could.

I spent 10 minutes that I will never get back watching that game. I was confused, I had no idea what was going on, I kept losing the ball, I watched the wrong person and missed the action and toward the end of my Super Bowl watching experience, I realized I was looking without seeing.

So I went to bed.

I hope you enjoyed the game.

Well hello fellow non-Super Bowl watching friend! I too don't care if I ever watch football... although I must confess that I did try to watch it - once! I was in University and although the guys looked good in uniform I just couldn't get it!

Well, I am visiting from SITS, stopping by to say Make it a great day!

I can't be bothered with it either. I can sort of follow it, but I always forget the different rules between CFL and NFL anyway. Hockey is so much simpler! Or baseball. Not that I love watching either of those either...
I was disgusted to hear about the national anthem fiasco. How could anyone be so stupid??

Football - NFL, not Canadian - is the only sport I will watch. I enjoy it. My husband is a sports junkie and so he follows EVERYTHING. I mean everything. He follows hockey to the Kentucky Derby to golf, I swear, it's enough to make one mental!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my site back!

I'm on the same page! I let my husband have his Superbowl Sunday while I typed away at the computer but we did have awesome food in the process.

Happy Monday!

I can't follow football either. You did better than I did though watching 10 whole minutes. I'd have given up after about 2!

Cheers :-)

I get the same glazed look on my face when someone explains football as when someone's explaining how to do taxes. I like the sound of the food everyone seems to eat while they're watching though. I'd partake in that!

I never understood football untill my husband explained it to me. After that it wasn't so bad to watch - but it's still not my favorite.

Don't worry the Super Bowl is all about the food and the commercials. Most people don't watch the game.

Football is more exciting if you're THERE.

It also helps if your brother is on the varsity team and your parents pretty much insist that you go to EVERY GAME.

I know more about football than I thought I'd ever need, and well, I never watch it either. lol.
