Hot Chocolate Anyone?
I consider myself a hot chocolate connoisseur.
I suppose I have to be, as I don’t drink much of any thing else – hot or cold.
However, unlike coffee drinkers, I seldom go out for hot chocolate because it annoys me to pay more than $3 for a small hot chocolate when it costs pennies to make.
In my richer days, I would treat myself to a hot chocolate now and then and here our my recommendations:
Both Second Cup and Timothy’s make a great cup of hot chocolate, sweet but not bitter. Timothy’s makes good varieties as well. Mint and raspberry are my favourites.
I dislike both Starbucks and Tim Hortons, which are similar in taste. Both are too bitter for my liking and the Tim Hortons' variety isn’t made with milk.
I don’t understand making hot chocolate without milk.
Without milk, you are having a beverage without any nutritional value. And with milk, the drink is richer and more delicious.
As far as hot chocolate mixes go, my mom made one with cocoa and milk powder that was pretty good.
I also enjoy Tim Hortons and Timothy’s but my favourite has to Carnation milk chocolate. It has the best taste and is not lumpy because while I enjoy hot chocolate, I don’t enjoy hot chocolate chunks.

The raspberry version sounds SO good!
I don't like hot chocolate! Well, I like it but I always feel crappy if I drink it, all headachy and stomach achy. But those flavours do sound nice.
I love Second Cup's hot chocolate - it is so creamy!
Mmmmm Tim Hortons! we don't have that in Nebraska but whenever I visit clients in the Toronto area it's my first stop.

Hot chocolate without milk sounds disgusting! The raspberry type sounds quite nice.
It sounds like coffee here in NZ. You can get all the fancy stuff you want, but a plain cup of coffee is not to be found in most restaurants.
I agree about the best kind of powdered hot chocolate being Carnation. I've tried President's Choice, and found it to not be nearly as nice and rich. I hardly ever order hot chocolate out, mostly because it's usually full of milk! (which I can't handle). When I make it at home, I use hot water, but blend the powder with some of my own cold milk first.
I WISH I could drink hot chocolate. In theory it sounds great, but it makes me kinda cringe.
I also hate chocolate milk, chocolate ice cream and fudgesicles. Do I get kicked out of the girl club?
I tried hot chocolate with milk once and it made me feel nauseated. It was too rich for me. I guess I've been drinking it with water for too long. I usually get Swiss Miss or Nestle, which is my favorite. :-)
My children are hooked on hot chocolate. I had to make it every morning for my 5 year old for a year and a half. She had to get her morning cup, even in the summer! I buy my powder in 25 lb. sacks because of this. And right now my 4 year old son is literally asking me for more! LOL (not kidding!)
I personally like Stephen's vanilla, but mint is good too. At Christmas I'd crush a candy cane and stir it in. Oh, better go... get that hot chocolate for him.
OOOps... I put my URL wrong...

That darn hot chocolate!
