Kid Talk

I didn’t want to be one of those people who talk about every thing her child has ever said or done.

Instead I became one of those people who talk about her cat.

Realizing this, I now I try to talk about neither.

Because while people often ask about the babe, when I begin to chat about what he did or said, their eyes start to glaze over so I know they really aren’t that interested.

Thankfully, most people like to talk about themselves so it’s easy to steer the conversation in a direction they are interested in.

Hey, I talk about my dog a lot. "Who's a good doggie?" :)

I work in sales so asking questions about others is second nature now. I'm much more uncomfortable talking about myself now! Nothing wrong with a good cat chat. Last week a client told me about the clothes her cat wore!

both are great ice breakers/conversation starters.

It's true - most people do prefer to talk about themselves unfortunately!

I love when you tell me every little thing about the babe and I realize that sounds like I am being sarcastic but I'm not. Honest. I LOVE hearing about everything he's done or said. I just wish you'd tell me more!

(Again, not being sarcastic in the least!)

Cheers :-)

Nothing wrong with talking about your children or your cat. People who have that look, have probably never experienced the joys of a child or the love of a pet. Too bad eh!

I mainly talk about food with people. They probably think I'm nuts.
