Sad day

It’s been a bad news day and it’s only 7:43 a.m.

I received a phone call from my husband this morning with the news that his cousin found his wife dead in their bathroom from an apparent brain aneurysm.

She was only 32. They have young children.

We aren’t close to this family but perhaps because of her age or perhaps because she has young children, my heart breaks for the husband and particularly for her children.

What do you say to a child who just wants his mom? I wish I was religious and could use the idea of a heaven or angels looking down. It seems an easy explanation and at least a nice idea.

Unfortunately, it’s hard to promote this idea when I don’t believe it.

My condolences to the Forbes family and to the children. My heart breaks for you all.

Tears were also shed for the three million people in Haiti who are expected to be impacted from last night’s ‘catastrophic’ earthquake.

My condolences to anyone who is has friends, family and loved ones on that Caribbean island.

I will be thinking of you.

Death is always hard to comprehend.
As I read your post, I was reminded of how fortunate we are.

My heart goes out to all of those who have lost their loved ones.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

My condolences to the family. It's a terrible situation.
In these times it's more about life than death.
We need to be more aware and thankful of our own lives and relationships with those around us.
It's a reminder that we must not waste a moment of our lives.
As for heaven, it's OK, even the Pope said it does not exist.
In Buddhism, death is part of life and one never "really" dies. Therefore, it never ends it cycles around and around.

So sorry - I can't even begin to imagine how to explain this to a child.

Thank you for stopping by my blog. I read the article on re-gifting and it was wonderful!

So sad for you husband's cousin and young kids. My condolences and prayers here.

There's time to be sad, but there's also time to heal. It will come later once the family has accepted what befell them. I was once in that situation of intense grief. I'm now healed.

Haiti's sad news evokes solemn prayers from me. May God pour His grace where there was none among the dead, the dying and the bereaved. Sad Day, really.
