Our mattress sucks.
This is not news. I have been complaining about our mattress - and therefore my bad back - since I first started laying on it consistently more than 10 years ago.
We came close to getting a new mattress, but then I had to buy a new-to-me car and there went the possibility of a comfortable sleep.
For the past year or so I hadn’t noticed how bad our mattress was.
Then our son slept eight hours in a row, two days in a row, and I realized something.
It wasn’t that our mattress had miraculously fixed itself or I had finally gotten used to it.
Rather for the past 15 months, I really wasn’t sleeping in the bed. I was merely resting there for a couple of hours at a time. And for that type of sleep, our mattress is wonderful.
For a night’s rest, not so great.

Have you tried turning your mattress over? They say you should turn it every 6 months. Just a thought.
Yes, a mattress is one of those items that is a must. Not just for a good night's sleep but for posture.
That was a rule at my parents house. And we regularly got new mattress and we always turned them - at least once a month.
Oh, and a soft mattress - no way. Super firm. And a good pillow.
I guess that's why my family is good with sleeping on the floor. Even my grandparents can!
Sleep country regularly has really great sales on mismatch mattress and box springs.
Now, bedsheets for single beds that are NOT for children are my challenge for the week!
I have the same issue. On the rare case that my 10 month old sleeps through the night I wake up and my back doesn't bother me much. But when he's up over and over again through the night, my back hurts so much I can hardly get out of bed. I blamed my mattress too until the first few nights he slept through the night.
Good luck!
Stopping by from SITS!
