Where are You Christmas Lights?

One of my columnists from work commented in a recent posting about the lack of Christmas lights in his area. He wondered if it had to do with the recent hike in hydro rates.

I don’t know the reason but his observation about the lack of holiday spirit is obvious in the places I drive through as well.

My little guy loves looking at Christmas lights and his face lights up each time he sees light displays. Sadly, Christmas light displays are no longer the norm but rather a rare treat.

I've noticed that here too, and we don't pay electric on base. I've chalked it up to so many husbands being deployed so there's no one to hang the lights, but maybe it's everywhere:(

Our street is often quite devoid of lights, but this year seems different! Of course, I'm in AB so it's different out here...

Our street has never been full of lights, but i would chalk it up to #1: no time, people are too busy, and #2: the price of utilities. Christmas cards have died right off too, mainly because of the internet I think.

Sadly, for me, our lights are up but we rarely turn them on because of the cost.
I wish it wasn't the case, but it is :(

(the inside of my home is flowing with holiday cheer, even considering...)

Yeah, a lot of people don't seem to have lights. It's probably the added cost to have them.
