Well, it finally happened and not a moment too soon.
Another sleepless week and a start of a cold ends the first week of March.
But the weekend includes visiting and hanging out with my guy. It also includes warmer temperatures and rain, followed by colder temperatures and snow.
Ah, spring.
Happy Weekend, everyone.

Friday Fragments

It was an awful drive in this morning. I am going to blame it on an accident that happened further down the highway rather than the few snowflakes that were falling.
But it’s Friday and it’s the weekend and we don’t have much planned. I am hoping for a whole lot of sleep seeing how mine has been disturbed nightly this week.
I am hoping good night sleep all weekend long coupled by some afternoon naps. Who doesn’t love a good two-hour nap in the afternoon?
This week, my guy has started uttering a couple of phrases that make me laugh, usually out loud.
“Daddy says yes to me.”
This means my guy is saying his Daddy says it’s OK to play with razors, eat chocolate for breakfast, watch TV and a bunch of other things that I can’t prove because Daddy, conveniently, isn’t there.
“I’m busy. Five minutes.” This is good for anything from avoiding a diaper change to coming for dinner. This one might be my favourite.
Happy weekend, everyone.

It’s The Weekend – Yaaaaaaa!

On Friday mornings on the way to daycare, I tell my little guy 'It’s Friday.'
I then ask him: ‘Do you know what that means? It’s the weekend.’
And we both clap loudly and say ‘Yaaaaaa.’
Despite having a wonderful day off yesterday – the boy is now two – I am glad it’s Friday.
It means a visit with the family Saturday, likely some jumping in leaves, napping and playing.
It’s Friday everyone. Yaaaaaaaaaaa!

A Little of This and A Little of That

My son decided sleeping wasn’t necessary last night.
He was awake – and quite happy – between midnight and 3 a.m. He was chatting, singing, clapping, hitting himself in the face (why do they do that?) and attempting to scale the wall. He finally fell asleep and the alarm went off a short two hours later.
New Sickness
He woke up at midnight with another cold. The poor guy just got over the flu.
Fridays vs Sundays
People are always excited about Fridays.
Fridays are great; it signals the last day of the workweek but the problem with Fridays is you still have to make it through the day. And when it’s a lovely 18 degrees out there (64 F) and sunny, with the forecast turning cold on the weekend, it’s even harder to be inside.
I like Sundays best.
Even though it’s the last day of the weekend and you are starting to mentally prepare for Monday, Sundays have always been a family day for me.
Saturdays can be busy with running around or visiting, but Sundays are nice to just hang out with your loved ones and enjoy the last day of relaxing before work.
Happy weekend everyone.
