Happy Birthday Little Boy

It was three years ago tomorrow my little guy arrived bringing me as much joy as I had imagined.

It was three years ago tomorrow that my life became more complicated, but in a way that I am thankful for every day.

It was three years ago tomorrow that me time, means us time and for that I am grateful.

Tomorrow my little guy turns three. It doesn't seem that long ago that we drove to the hospital and my little guy was placed into my arms bringing with him daily joy and often worry.

Happy Birthday, little man. Guacamole and a campfire with marshmallows and hot dogs await.

Love Mommy

Happy?

Whenever it's someone's birthday, I ask my guy if we should sing that person the birthday song.

He often says yes, but then interrupts the singing to say I should sing to Nana and Popa rather than whoever's birthday it actually is.

The babe is now at the age where he will ‘sing’ along to the song, injecting the words he knows into his humming. It’s really cute. So we will be singing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and he will say ‘high’ and ‘up’ and ‘sky’.

The Little Duck song is filled with unknown words then ‘fat’ and ‘tall’ and ‘one’ and ‘quack, quack, quack’ said so quietly you have to strain to hear what he is saying.

Literally in the last day, he has asked for ‘Happy?’ (yes, said as a question), wanting the Happy Birthday song, which is the babe singing the tune and injecting ‘Happy’ into the appropriate places.

It’s my guy’s second birthday tomorrow. “Happy’ birthday to him.

Happy First Birthday

Tomorrow is our son’s first birthday.

It doesn’t seem like a year ago when our son was laid against my face for the first time. It doesn’t seem like a year ago that I just sat there and watched this miracle boy sleep in my arms.

Other than those two weeks at Sick Kids, each of the 365 days that have passed has been an absolute joy.

People tell you that your life complete changes with a child. While shopping isn’t as easy as it once was, my life has only been enriched and if anything has changed it is that each day brings happiness and contentment.

Happy Birthday, my little one.

Happy Birthday To You

Happy to my stepdaughter, AD, who turns 19 today.

A has gone from a cute little girl, to a moody and selfish pre-teen to a beautiful young lady, who makes me smile and often laugh out loud.

It’s an exciting year, for A, who is waiting to hear if she is accepted to York U’s Glendon College and is waiting to apply for residence. It doesn’t seem that long ago that I left the shelter of my parents’ place to go to college. It was one of the best times of my life.

I am so excited for A as she starts a new path and am looking forward to hearing the adventures she has along the way.

Happy Birthday, A.
